Apollus
looks at the ground before him, as he exits his compound on Palatine Hill. It
is covered in stones and shrubbery from the attack of the previous night from an
unknown enemy from across the Tiber River. Apollus notices burn marks on trees
as well as the dark red remnants of blood splattered about the area. He picks
up a bloodied arrow from the ground to add to the collection of arrows slung
over his back. These are his weapons to protect himself while he sojourns to
market. He makes his way down the hill as quietly as possible, so as not to
make for an easy target to the enemy. Glancing from left to right, he is weary
of his safety as he expects someone to emerge from behind a tree.
After
inching his way to the bottom of Palatine Hill, Apollus has reached the
marketplace. Forum Boarium is busy at this midday hour. There are merchants moving
about between Horrea and Temples of Fortuna and Mater Matuta. Apollus runs into
a good friend, Titus. The two are looking for some imported meats to take back
to their respective compounds. By the harbor, Apollus spots a merchant with a
cart full of boar meat. Apollus is forced to give up a couple of arrows to the
salesman for the food. After completing the purchase, he begins the trek back
home and finds it to be safe.
