Assignment 2- Selina Rivera

Inch by inch the sunlight shines through the window of my stone cold room, luring me to open my eyes and begin my demanding day. The top of Palatine Hill has never looked more radiant.  The sun penetrating the rushing Tiber River, allows me to imagine myself as royalty. My thoughts are quickly interrupted by the noise of my family doing their chores. I then remember it was my turn to take the trip to the market. This task excited me for the reason in which this trip allowed me to take my time and continue my thoughts of freedom.
The Basilica Aemilia is full of rushing slaves trying to complete their shopping and the trading merchants; I slowly walk through forum appreciating the beautiful marble of the Basilica Lulia, full of shops and home of the centumviral court.  I then pass by the Regia and I cannot help but about the kings and the beautiful shrines that were created for them.  I must remind myself constantly what my duty was here at the market; however it is very difficult to with the beauty of the Boarium forum. The feeling of freedom is very overwhelming.
The way back to the top of Palatine Hill is an overwhelming sight. The view of Velia, I can only imagine is where everything began. However my return home quickly takes me back to my true reality.
