The man slowly walked from Palitine
Hill towards the gentler slope of the Velia. As he enjoyed what seemed to be
crisper air from the higher elevation he also noticed the steady noise of the
Tigris River fading as he traveled further from it. While descending the slope
he started heading left towards the forum Romanum. He had a few hours to kill before
he was to meet with a couple of shop owners down at the Horrea to discuss
prices on an incoming shipment of cloth from Alexandria Egypt. Although the
Horrea was located in the Forum Boarium, he enjoyed strolling through the Forum
Romanum trying to become friendly and familiar with some of the Equestian
class. The man although born a pleb was becoming a very wealthy merchant. He
was also starting to get noticed by influential people for his quick wit and
knowledge of imports. After walking through the Forum Romanum and making
conversation with a familiar face at the north end of the Basilica Aemilla he started
heading back toward the Tigris into the forum Boarium. As he reached the Horrea
he felt the temperature drop as he made his way further into the middle, for
the day was young and the sun had yet to heat the cold thick cement roof.
