Plot Summary

The episode of The last Days relives the captivating events surrounding the deceitful assassination of Julius Caesar. The story follows the main character of Marcus and illustrates the uncertain times in Rome just days before the fall of its greatest leader. As a trained veteran of the 13th Legion and close friend to Julius Caesar, Marcus is a superior fighter with political influence and loyalty, but struggles to protect Caesar from the sinister eyes of the senate.
Caesars victories throughout the peninsula have increased the alarm and hostility of his enemies in Rome, as they cannot defeat him with weapons or politics. Upon his return to the city he is once again named Dictator but plans for his epic fall have already been conceived behind the closed doors of the senate. As a supporter of Caesar, Marcus knows that his intentions to eliminate the republic are not valid but with military control and the support of the plebeians, Caesars enemies fear total loss of their power.
Through an unusual request for his audience at the market within the Forum Boarium, Marcus becomes aware of the plot to kill Caesar but is not initially concerned for the safety of his friend. Returning to his Villa atop Palatine Hill Marcus begins to fear the worst before receiving word of Caesars departure to meet the senate. Mounting atop his horse, Marcus rushes to accompany his friend but is forced into a battle on the steps of the Theatre of Pompey. His fight against the advisories is valiant, but will he have to give up his life to save Rome’s most prolific leader and close friend Julius Caesar?
