Rome awaken with great anticipation this morning the long awaited circus was upon them. The mundane days of Roman life often became routine and uneventful because of this the circus generated excitement from the Roman people. Todays circus enticed the Romans even more due to the competitors in the chariot race.  The opening day of Ludi always showcased the most agile competitors these men were young, strong, and determined to win. The circus maximus was still empty at the time of Arsenius' arrival. Arsenius was about six feet tall broad shoulders and dark hair he would be the first racer on the track today. Arsenius stood in front of the U shape track daydreaming of his victory. The sun was bright today and beaming over him . Arsenius saw this as a sign that the gods also hoped for his victory. He invisioned the hundreds of people around him . Even though the stadium stood empty in his head he could hear the rumble of voices soon to come. He was most anxious about the Roman elite who would be present . This circus would be held by Ceasar, Arsenius knew that meant execellence was required. The long track in his eyes meant recognition from the elite a chance to be known and recognized as an individual . The first few spectators began to arrive. Depending on their social status they were seated in different areas of the circus.  The feast would soon commence and the crowd was becoming restless. Arsenius now began to walk to the starting line . As he walked along side the track  he could see the residue of water left after the track had been drained. In addition, with every step he took he could feel his heart begin to pound more and more. The anxiety of the race gave him a rush of adreadline . This adreadline lead to fear as he stood a couple steps away now from the beginning of his race something caught his eye. The  temples that surrounded the track once again reassured him that the gods wanted his victory today .
