As Decimus lest his home and began walking toward the market, he stepped out into the sunlight which revealed his toga perfectly draped around him. Decimus, a wealthy man who tried to stay out of the political world, always made sure he looked his best with his newly washed toga, his shoes which Decimus did not prefer, and of course his ring. This last piece, his iron ring, was important as Decimus was a large land owner and needed to approve documents every day regarding slave trades and those renting land from him. From a physical point, Decimus was a thirty-four year old man whom many women still adored. He had short black hair, dark brown eyes, and a square jaw which was intimidating to many, especially as he was taller than most of his fellow Roman citizens. While Decimus preferred to go without shaving for some time as he did when his father ran the house, he knew he had to stay clean shaven as it was more acceptable and that was how he was this day. Decimus knew of his good looks ever since he was a boy and had grown into a very charismatic person as he was confident and precise in his speech. As Decimus got to the market, he went over to the stand which he knew Julia worked at who he had fallen for despite his current marriage.
Julia, the daughter of a merchant in the Forum Boarium, had been up and helping her dad from early in the morning. Julia was wearing what she wore everyday, her palla along with her sandals as she preferred to be comfortable as she stood most of the day. Julia had long brown hair that was wavy and complemented her dark eyes and was known by many as being a very desirable. Julia was eighteen and while many of her friends had been married at this point, she had not because she was her dads only help since her mom had died a couple years before and she was an only child. Julia, with her defined cheek bones and slim figure, stood under the cover of her dads small store when she saw Decimus approaching her.
